Preliminary Heat Pump Sizing with Radiator Analysis

Quick estimate for client conversations. Not a replacement for a full installation project.

Heat pump selection in HeatAlgo is a browser-based preliminary pump power sizing with room-by-room radiator analysis - built for heating installers. Enter building and radiator data, compare 3 flow temperature scenarios, and hand your client a PDF during the initial meeting.

Context

What this tool is for

A client calls about a heat pump. They want to know: is it worth it, which radiators will need replacing, how much will it cost. You need a fast answer during the meeting, not a full engineering project.

HeatAlgo gives you preliminary pump sizing and room-by-room radiator analysis in about 15 minutes. It's built for sales conversations: show the client a concrete plan, answer their questions, close the deal. The full installation project comes after, on-site, with proper measurements.

This tool doesn't replace the installation project or a certified audit. It replaces back-of-the-envelope calculations and guessing during a sales call.

Step by step

How it works, step by step

Heat pump sizing result in the HeatAlgo app - temperature scenarios and radiator analysis
1

Enter building data

Walls, windows, floor area, location. The system calculates the heat demand for each room.

2

Add existing radiators

For each room, select the radiator type, size, and rated output. You can add as many rooms as needed.

3

Choose flow temperature scenarios

Compare scenarios such as 40°C, 55°C and 60°C. Each scenario shows a different set of radiators to replace and a different running cost.

4

Review the room-by-room analysis

Green means the radiator is sufficient, red means it needs replacing at that flow temperature.

5

Generate a PDF modernisation report

One click and you have a clear report: which radiators to replace, which pump, what cost. Hand it to your client on the spot.

Features

Everything you need for a preliminary sizing

Radiator analysis, room by room.

A clear answer for every room: the radiator stays or gets replaced. You see straight away where a low flow temperature is enough.

Three flow temperature scenarios side by side.

Compare 40°C, 55°C, and 60°C along with each scenario's running cost. The client sees what a lower flow temperature changes.

10 power classes averaged from market data.

Characteristics averaged from data on 239 devices from 28 manufacturers. You pick a power class, not a specific model.

A PDF report with a modernisation plan.

Which radiators to replace, which pump, what cost - hand it to your client on the spot. All in one clear document.

Heating costs compared in PLN per year.

The current heating cost set against a heat pump, concrete figures in PLN per year. Numbers you can put in front of the client.

Runs in the browser, no installation.

Desktop, tablet, or phone, and the project saves automatically. You come back to it from any device.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace a full installation project?

No. HeatAlgo gives you a preliminary pump sizing for client conversations. A full installation project requires a site visit, accurate measurements, and consideration of local conditions. You use HeatAlgo at the sales stage, and do the full project after the client decides.

Where does your heat pump data come from?

The solver selects one of 10 generalised heat pump power classes (HP-4kW to HP-16kW). Their characteristics - COP curves, costs - are averaged from catalogue data on 239 devices from 28 manufacturers. This isn't a database of specific models to pick from, just a reference point for preliminary sizing.

Does the radiator analysis account for flow temperature?

Yes. For each flow temperature scenario (e.g. 40°C, 55°C, 60°C) we check whether the radiator output covers the room's heat demand. You see exactly which radiator needs replacing.

Can I compare several heat pumps for the same building?

You compare flow temperature scenarios and power classes, not specific models. The system shows how the required power and running cost change with flow temperature - choosing a specific device from a manufacturer stays your call.

What does HeatAlgo cost?

For 14 days you get full access for free, no card required. After the trial we agree on a plan matched to your business.

Can I save a project and come back later?

Yes, data is saved automatically to the cloud. You can return to your project from any device: desktop, tablet, or phone.

How many rooms can I add?

There is no room limit - the system processes each room individually and shows results for the whole building.

Does it work for multi-family buildings?

The tool is built for single-family homes - the pump power classes go up to 16 kW. For a larger building you can still calculate room-by-room demand, but treat the power sizing as indicative only.

Can I change the radiator type in the analysis?

Yes. For each room you can select a different radiator type and size and immediately see how the analysis result changes.
